I'd rather worry about truth, not fashion. Here's a little truth for you: I'm a whole 1/128th Cherokee. Big deal. However, this demonstrates to me that at some point in the past, it was possible for two people from very different backgrounds to raise children together; the children became something new, perhaps a better thing better-adapted for living in territory which was new to both of them. Whatever the ultimate meaning,I don't see the point of being anti-native or anti-white, since to some degree, that would be hating two parts of myself. Still, the point remains, in many cases the whites came to northamerica and were received as guests. However, in many cases, they were terrible guests and generally badly behaved and not of good will. They provoked resentment. Resentful people often strike out at those who cause the resentment. Generally this means a fight breaks out, if this fight breaks out in public, people will take sides. Sometimes the person provoking the fight will win, sometimes the person who was provoked will win. It doesn't prove who is right or wrong, it only proves who was the better fighter, or had the better weapons. Mostly, the native northamericans didn't have the better weapons, so they lost. But, keep in mind, they were defending their homelands, and so you could say that under the moral code most euro-descended people use, "they were in the right". And think about it, if you are convinced that you are in the right -- even according to the moral standards of your victorious enemy -- then of course you will dream that one day you'll be the one who wins back what once was yours... and in the meantime, if your enemy realizes that according to their own moral code they were a provoker and a usurper, maybe you can win back what was yours without either side needing to fight. Sometimes it takes a strong man to admit he's wrong, it takes a stronger man to accept that admission in the spirit of seeing the other entering a higher state of maturity and humanity. Sometimes this is the source of the greatest friendships.
