I would expect a certain sense of > unease in the business community. You are promoting terrorism. A more plausible scenario is as follows. A man opens his door and is shot dead, one round between the eyes. Later, it develops that he was anti-immigration, and was the lead programmer co-ordinating the system integration of a seamless package which would correlate social-security and similar identifying numbers with a variety of other databases, forever ending most document fraud, immigration fraud, and identity-theft abuses. As his company, a government contractor, struggles to find a replacement, they find that almost all of the US-born programmers competent to put together such a package have mysteriously died in the last several months. They search widely but for some reason, the only programmers and system integrators they can find who are competent to finish the package are apparently Indians from India. They apply for and secure emergency clearance to hire these individuals to get the desperately needed package completed and delivered to the government for use in its War on Terror. It is only later, after The Catastrophe, that they discover that these programmers were not in fact Indian, but Pashtun from Pakistan, and all sympathizers with the Taliban, and self-organized into an operation parallel to, but not associated with, Osama bin-Laden's Al Qaeda network. They wrote a huge number of back-doors into the program, allowing them to issue a variety of forged documentation which successfully spoofed all of the law-enforcement, intelligence community, and consular systems, permitting the issuance of student and travel visas to approximately fifty times their own number of highly-educated and well-trained, and utterly inimical terrorists, who applied their excellent educations to determining the best strike points to turn the vast and powerful US industrial machine into a weapons of mass destruction aimed directly at, and operating within, the American heartlands. Think it can't happen? _it is happening now_ And please keep in mind that "klaatu is _always_ right, maybe you just haven't noticed yet". I guarantee that, hiding behind the President's orders to law-enforcement to aggressively protect anyone appearing to be a member of a "hated group", there are people who cannot be touched nor even dismissed from work for incompetence, who are at this very moment moving the cripple America's ability to manage, to program software, operate complex systems, _or even notice that this is happening_. Those of us who are capable of noticing that this is happening are the first on the list of targets and we are disappearing rapidly. We demand that the US government aggressively identify us and hire us, if only as consultants, if only so that we have the right numbers to call when the Enemy starts sneaking around (as it were) clipping the wires of your alarm systems... which would be, starting yesterday. Thank you, thank you very much. > > Phil -- Be kind to your neighbors, even though they be transgenic chimerae. Whom thou'st vex'd waxeth wroth: Meow. <-----> http://earthops.net/klaatu/
