Re: Using "FOB" is death to your own culture
okay, i have lived in the states for more than seven years. and i call myself a fob(including my friends) cuz i am not a twinkie and white washed. when i and my friend see some koreans in the hall, we simply go is that a fob or twinkie? it's like a word that using every day life. i know what you gonna say. it would be like looking down on ourselves? but i think you are taking this too seriously. if someone call you a fob, you simply answer them back. that's it! how simple is that? plus we have white and black friends and we have no problem speaking english and being friends with them. however, we enjoy speaking korean and enjoy being with my own race especially fobs. you know what i mean? if we fobs are okay with the word fob, nobody shouldn't be worried. right? and i agree with belle. we don't wanna look like a twinkie(even though we look like them) and we don't wanna be americanized either, but we admit that we are americanized even though we think we haven't. oh, there is one more thing that i want to say. all fobs are not the same. i don't like yuh hak saengs who act like hard core even though they are nothing without their parents' money. especially ones that look down immigrants like us. there is a question that i like to ask you twinkies. i heard a lot of twinkies say GO BACK TO KOREA GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY and you know what? if all fobs have to go back to korea, i guess you are coming with us since your parents are fobs you belong to them, you morons!!!
