About TJH Internet SP

TJH Internet SP is a sole proprietorship, presently doing business catch-as-catch-can in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area.

TJH Internet SP is presently the sole sponsor of Earth Operations Central.

TJH Internet SP is ready to put a very "full-figured" Linux server onto any PC-compatible computer, 486 or better, that you provide. We recommend, for the serious business web-presence, an AMD K6-2 MMX at 300MHz or above, a good PC100 motherboard with AGP graphics, and a Matrox Millenium AGP G200 video card, and 64 megs of RAM. This would be an excellent workhorse which could handle your mid-to-small organization's web-pages, mail and mail-list server, FTP and assorted other functions, multitasked seamlessly in the background. Linux is exceptionally stable and robust, particularly when compared to such systems as Microsoft NT (trademark of Microsoft Corporation). Linux is much much better, with most machines needing to be rebooted only for hardware upgrades.

What sort of machine does the Earth Operations Central site operate?

What's it going to cost you? If you will send me some mail and give me some idea of what you want, I'll tell you what it will cost you. I expect that a visit to your site, and an installation and configuration sufficient for you to be serving web-pages and handling mail would probably run you about $200.00 -- think of it as a mere $25 per hour for four years worth of Linux experience. If you need more than a mere installation and configuration, send me mail and I'll let you know what I can do for you and your organization.

What about Earth Operations Central?

Location: EarthOps could be anywhere. Right now, Earth Operations Central District Office is in the 8th Congressional District Maryland suburb of Washington, the District of Columbia.

More importantly, we know exactly what we're doing: serving the InterNet 24/7, with a focus on underserved InterNet communities.

Earth Operations Central is basically about four years' worth of bookmarks meant to be used by the world, and links to sites which yielded a very high proportion of information compared to fluff. Our original focus was space, sciences, and environmental issues. Eventually the site grew so large that it was necessary to install search-engines which indexed not only this site, but sites which it referenced. Eventually, this also got out of hand and it was necessary to install other search-engines, each with a particular focus, serving specific Internet communities.

The Earth Operations District Office is a well equipped Linux Box which has, in various incarnations and rebuilds, served the InterNet since 1995.
